How to Simply Measure the Size of Your Hose Fittings:
- Use Vernier Callipers, Ruler, or Tape Measure
- Measure across the diameter of the threaded male part of the fitting, including the thread
- 13mm = 1/4" – 14mm = 14mm – 16.5mm = 3/8” – 22mm = 22mm - 20mm = 1/2'
- 3/8” and 22mm are the most common followed by 1/4" then 14mm
- 1/4" and 3/8” are based on the internal tube diameters (for example: Gun lance being 1/4")
- BSP is the most common thread type on Machines made in Australia. NPT is usually from the USA.
